Heading for Japan
08/03/10 09:20
This is my second trip back to Japan during this present furlough. Our church does not have anyone to help while we are gone and our people need this visit in order for us to keep contact with them. It is a long trip usually taking about 30 hours of travel time. My flights today take me from Norfolk, VA to Detroit to Tokyo. From there, an overnight bus is the cheapest route.
Yesterday (3/7), I concluded a meeting with a long-time friend, Pastor Jim Rushing, who pastors the Temple Baptist Church in Chesapeake. It was a great meeting. It was a blessing to meet this church which has a great reputation as being a missions hearted church and to see Bro Jim and Mrs Linda again.
Last week we attended the funeral for Jenny’s sister-in-law, Karen (Jere’s wife), who went home to be with the Lord after two strokes within about a week’s period. We are all still in a state of shock. Please pray especially for Jere and for both the Drennen and Gober families.
Well, it is time to board, so I better go for now. Thank you for praying for us.
